The Oktober SL1 Homebrewer Can Seamer is designed to seam aluminum beverage cans with size 202 ends (tops) with the B64 style profile. SL1 Homebrewer comes standard with adapters for 16oz and 12oz cans.  Because the seamer shares the same upper and lower chucks and adapters as Model 7 – B can seamers, it can optionally be set up for CDL and SuperEnd® (360 end®) profile ends (excluding size 200 ends), as well as optional can sizes like 500ml, 8oz “stubby”, etc.  There is also an option for 220V 50Hz power requirements (export model).

Our original idea in 2014 was to build a can seamer specifically for home brewers, and we have finally accomplished that goal.  After building over 3000 of our Oktober MK series can seamers and crowler can seamers for professional breweries and businesses, we have learned a lot about what a can seamer absolutely needs, and what it can live without.  It’s because of those realizations that we updated the design of the seaming rollers and placed them both on a single lever arm; fewer parts = less cost.  The SL1’s frame and drive cover are also more utilitarian.

It’s not quite as pretty as the MK series, but it creates the same quality seams, and will do so for many years and many cheers.

What is the difference between the SL1 Homebrewer seamer and the Model 7 – B Professional seamer?

The Model 7 – B and SL1 can seamers share many components and features.  Both produce the same high-quality seams.

The Model 7 – B is designed for professional businesses and continuous heavy use with simple quick daily maintenance.

The SL1 was specifically designed for less frequent use and requires a bit more routine maintenance, making it less ideal for commercial applications.

  • The MK16 Can seamer arrived in a beautiful package and even included a koozie, about 2 minutes of assembly and we hit the ground running! We successfully sealed 194 of 196 (at least one was operator error) of our first order of cans with our homebrew kombucha and it was really as simple as the promo video shows! Well built and great appearance, would definitely recommend to anyone interested.

  • negative review Every day I get advertisements about their seamers, however, I've been trying to get an answer about why the following 4 items failed on my seamer:

    1. Motor (locked)
    2. On/Off Switch fell apart
    3. Renewable Circuit Breaker stopped working
    4. Motor belt shredded

All of these items need to be replaced and we've only canned 100 cases of beer! Unless you want to rebuild your entire seamer (and have the skill set to do so), then stay away!

I would not post this response, however, the company has failed on multiple occasions and on multiple months to respond to my emails!

  • Our can seamer is fantastic - we use it behind the bar and in the back on small scale canning runs together with a custom-built purge/fill system. The thing just runs like a champ and has helped our nanobrewery put some beer on shelves where no one would expect a tiny place like ours to have a few cans. Plus, having the ability to order a small amount of supplies every now and then instead of dropping 1K-2K on a can pallet is nice.

  • If you're in the market for a can seamer for your brewery, taproom, bar, etc. look no further than Oktober. Their Mk16 covers 8, 12, and 16 oz. can options, and now just came out with the Mk32 for the 32 oz. format! Super simple to use, and the price simply can't be beat!

  • positive review We got to use the Oktober design can seamer and it is flawless, easy-to-use, a gamechanger, and truly a must-have for any brewery and even the serious homebrewer. We fell in love with the ease and look of the 16oz cans and the portability factor of crowlers. Can't wait to brew and can our next batch!
