Meet Svend Sorensen - Chief Engineer
Svend Sorensen is a distinguished engineering professional with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan. With over two decades of experience, he has established himself as a leader in engineering innovation, particularly in mechanical design and project management. Prior to his current role, Svend was a Project Lead Mechanical Engineer at Burke E. Porter Machinery Company, also in Grand Rapids, where he played a key role in designing vehicle test equipment that enhanced efficiency, reduced costs, and improved reliability for electric and fossil-fueled vehicles. At Campbell Grinder in Spring Lake, Michigan, Svend led the New Product Design group and served as Mechanical Engineering Manager. In his tenure at the Walgren Company in Grand Rapids, Svend directed a team in developing automated equipment. Additionally, Svend contributed to the aerospace industry at Vickers Electromechanical in Grand Rapids, focusing on the design and implementation of aircraft flap actuating systems.
